Discover Thai Grill Restaurant

Walking into Thai Grill Restaurant in downtown Bellevue feels like stepping into a familiar neighborhood spot that just happens to cook with serious skill. Located at 260 106th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98004, United States, this place has become a regular stop for locals who want bold Thai flavors without the fuss. I first ate here on a rushed lunch break between meetings, expecting something quick and decent. What I got instead was a meal that slowed me down in the best way possible.

The menu reads like a greatest-hits list of Thai cuisine, but the execution is where it shines. Dishes like pad thai, green curry, basil stir-fry, and tom yum soup are all here, yet each one tastes carefully built rather than rushed out of the kitchen. I remember watching the open prep area while waiting for my order, noticing how vegetables were chopped fresh and sauces were portioned by hand. That attention shows up on the plate. The pad thai, for example, strikes a balance that many places miss-tangy tamarind, just enough sweetness, and noodles that stay springy instead of soggy.

One thing that stands out is how customizable the food is. Spice levels aren’t just a checkbox; they actually mean something. I usually go for medium spice, and here it delivers a steady warmth without overwhelming the dish. Friends who prefer extra heat have confirmed that higher levels bring real Thai-style fire. This lines up with guidance from culinary experts like Andy Ricker, a James Beard Award-winning chef known for his work with traditional Thai cooking, who often emphasizes balance over brute heat.

Portion sizes are generous, which makes it a popular choice for both dine-in and takeout. During one visit, I noticed several office groups picking up large orders, clearly relying on this place for team lunches. According to data from the National Restaurant Association, over 60% of U.S. diners now choose restaurants that offer reliable takeout options, and this spot seems well aware of that shift. Packaging holds up, sauces don’t spill, and dishes reheat surprisingly well.

The dining room itself is casual and welcoming, nothing flashy, but clean and comfortable. Service tends to be efficient rather than chatty, which fits the vibe. On busy evenings, especially weekends, the room fills quickly, and online reviews often mention short waits despite the crowd. That consistency matters. Studies from Harvard Business School have shown that even a half-star improvement in restaurant ratings can significantly increase revenue, and the steady stream of positive reviews here suggests strong word-of-mouth.

Ingredients lean fresh, and you can taste it in dishes like the papaya salad, where the crunch and brightness cut through richer items on the menu. Coconut milk-based curries are creamy without being heavy, a sign they’re not overloaded with sugar or shortcuts. While I can’t see every process in the kitchen, the flavors suggest traditional methods rather than pre-made pastes, though like most restaurants, some components are likely prepped in batches for efficiency.

If there’s a limitation, it’s that the menu doesn’t change often, so frequent diners may find themselves rotating favorites rather than discovering new specials. That said, the reliability is part of the appeal. You know what you’re getting, and it’s consistently good.

Whether you’re scanning reviews for a dependable dinner spot or looking for a lunch location that won’t disappoint, this Bellevue restaurant delivers honest Thai food with care. The combination of thoughtful cooking, practical service, and a central location keeps people coming back, myself included, usually ordering the same dish and still feeling satisfied every single time.

  • I absolutely love thai food and Thai Grill hit it out of the park. I was also taking my boyfriend to get thai for the very first time. The thai iced tea was so good. I really enjoyed the pad see ew and my boyfriend liked the crispy garlic chicken. Our waitress was super kind. I will definitely be back next time we are in Bellevue!

  • The staff was very polite and attentive. They let me charge my phone when I couldn’t get home because it died. Thanks to them, everything turned out fine. I also ordered two pad see ew to-go, and everything was very delicious!

  • Great food, especially the appetizers/side dishes at happy hour! The happy hour periods are odd to me, 5-7 and 9-closing, but I'm not complaining haha. The green beans hit the spot, and the crispy pork was amazing. The mains were not as outstanding, but still solid. We'd go back just for the green beans :) Only complaint is the somewhat slow service

  • Got the crispy chicken and pad thai, the chicken comes with rice which is nice. They were both good but not great. 6.5/10 food. Total was $39 before tip.

  • Phad See Ew was SO good. Ordered it for takeout, portion was normal sizing, with plenty of beef ! A lot of the reviews say portions are small, but I’m starting to think it’s cause this dish is just too good, who wouldn’t want a Large portion? This ends up being a total of $18 after taxes, which sadly is our norm now, but I am glad it wasn’t a waste of money. Will 100% be ordering from here again !!
